| Dear
Eleanor,
I saw your website and I know Neil and Angela Dickson through my research work. I am so glad that your latest scan was clear and that you are well. I just wanted to tell you that I am working very hard to make medicines to make you and other people like you better. I have a daughter called Rachel Lois (aged 15) and Son called Peter William Bryan (aged 7, and I would not want them ever to be ill like you have been. My daddy died when I was only 15 from cancer, so I am working hard in my laboratory so that other people like you do not have to be ill with this disease. You can see me talking about anti-cancer drugs on the BBC website at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6244715.stm Keep well, and be good for Mummy and Daddy. I know they (and lots of other people) love you very much. Love and Best Wishes Dr. Tim, Helen, Rachel and Peter Bates |

| We know how busy you have all been this week, it was excellent news from the community nurse on Saturday, the wound is healing very well. We know how difficult it can be at times. Eleanor just doesn't know what is going on and the strong dose of anti-biotics together with the on-set of puberty have made her mood swings even more unpredictable, it so distressing for you to see her break down in tears for no apparent reason. Caroline and Mark, you have managed very well this week we are so proud of you both. | |

Our daughter Stacey was 6 in December and diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in April of this year and is in her final week of radiotherapy. All of her family are devastated but we keep on believing in our daughters inner strength and her positive will to get through this. Sometimes you have to believe that you have known your child longer than than anyone else and have faith that they will get through this. My thoughts are with you.

Mark - I am immensely proud of you little bro, I often think of you as still being about 16 - but you daily prove that you've grown to be a wonderful man. Press on just as you are, you're doing an excellent job as Daddy & Husband. Caroline - wow - I am always impressed by you. I couldn't ask for a more lovely sister-in-law. Make time for yourself in these next months, as well as looking after the rest of the tribe! Eleanor & Holly - gorgeous girls - your Auntie Mandy thinks you're both wonderful! Love you all lots x x x x

I simply loved all the wonderful photo's and reading the stories of your magical holiday away in Florida, what a lot of beautiful memories :) I particularly loved reading of young Eleanor's ability re: 14/04/2006- Static Electricity, and, no doubt the uncomfortable charge you received, *bubbly laughter*... it is something I am able to relate to personally, and, is a place I am very familiar with *grin*. If it help's? when Eleanor becomes this way - static, observe and take note of how she is feeling, note the time and hour of day, most usually she could be over tired, and/or irritable. There is no cure I have come to learn through research as yet for this build up of energy, but, you learn to work with it best you can & channel it positively *s*. Thank you for the smile's and beautiful photo's. Gentle hugs, Chana Hera |

| Hip
hop, hippety hop My “Easter Bunny” went off to the shop, He bought me an egg and lots of chocs And packed them into a cardboard box. Then he wrapped it with paper and shiny string It really was such a pretty thing. Disaster struck when I opened the door- He slid across the parquet floor, He went round the corner and past the stairs And finished up in a pile of chairs. Of the Easter goodies not a trace, he’d thrown them into my fireplace! So a warning before you go opening doors Make sure your “Bunny” has non-slip paws! Happy Easter With lots of love, Everyone at Post Pals |

little girl. I have a little lad, Harry - with leukeamia - so I
can feel very much for what you are going through. I have to
say there is no way that I could be brave enough to diarise his
treatment on the internet! Thankfully
Harry is very well - despite the fact that his neutrophil count is as
low as 0.3 just now - he seems very strong.
All the best for a happy future with your lovely little girl.... |

Sheila and myself I would like to congratulate Mark on this Web site, it
has made it much easier to talk about Eleanor in the shop as many people
have been able to keep up to date with developments themselves instead
of feeling they have to ask every time they call see either of us.
We are obviously also very pleased with the progress Eleanor is showing
during this time. Well done to all at Alder Hey.
