I can't believe that I have never visited your website until now, its brilliant. I have been enjoying looking at all of the photographs on the photo page, they are SO cute. Mini Eleanor and mini Holly...aahhh.  I am really pleased that your scan went so well and that there is no sign of that nasty tumor returning  Did you tell all of your friends at school?

I will be coming into school next week to visit with baby George and of course I will come and see you to give you a hug.

Until then take care,

lots of love

Hello Eleanor. I'm Steve's wife.(your swimming teacher).

Steve talks about you all the time, you truly are an inspiration to everybody.

He is so proud of your achievements in swimming. Steve is not home much because of his teaching, to know he is teaching someone as special as you makes up for that. I hope to see you at the sponsored swim, I might even get in myself!!!

Dear Eleanor,

I saw your website and I know Neil and Angela Dickson through my research work. I am so glad that your latest scan was clear and that you are well. I just wanted to tell you that I am working very hard to make medicines to make you and other people like you better.

I have a daughter called Rachel Lois (aged 15) and Son called Peter William Bryan (aged 7, and I would not want them ever to be ill like you have been. My daddy died when I was only 15 from cancer, so I am working hard in my laboratory so that other people like you do not have to be ill with this disease.

You can see me talking about anti-cancer drugs on the BBC website at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6244715.stm

Keep well, and be good for Mummy and Daddy. I know they (and lots of other people) love you very much.

Love and Best Wishes

We know how busy you have all been this week, it was excellent news from the community nurse on Saturday, the wound is healing very well. We know how difficult it can be at times. Eleanor just doesn't know what is going on and the strong dose of anti-biotics together with the on-set of puberty have made her mood swings even more unpredictable, it so distressing for you to see her break down in tears for no apparent reason. Caroline and Mark, you have managed very well this week we are so proud of you both.

I have sat here for a long time not knowing what to say other than I know what you are going through.  Our daughter Stacey was 6 in December and diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in April of this year and is in her final week of radiotherapy.  All of her family are devastated but we keep on believing in our daughters inner strength and her positive will to get through this.  Sometimes you have to believe that you have known your child longer than than anyone else and have faith that they will get through this. My thoughts are with you.

When you wish upon a Star.

I simply loved all the wonderful photo's and reading the stories of your magical holiday away in Florida, what a lot of beautiful memories :)

I particularly loved reading of young Eleanor's ability re: 14/04/2006- Static Electricity, and, no doubt the uncomfortable charge you received, *bubbly laughter*... it is something I am able to relate to personally, and, is a place I am very familiar with *grin*.

If it help's? when Eleanor becomes this way - static, observe and take note of how she is feeling, note the time and hour of day, most usually she could be over tired, and/or irritable. There is no cure I have come to learn through research as yet for this build up of energy, but, you learn to work with it best you can & channel it positively *s*. Thank you for the smile's and beautiful photo's.

Gentle hugs,

Chana Hera

Hip hop, hippety hop
My “Easter Bunny” went off to the shop,
He bought me an egg and lots of chocs
And packed them into a cardboard box.
Then he wrapped it with paper and shiny string
It really was such a pretty thing.
Disaster struck when I opened the door-
He slid across the parquet floor,
He went round the corner and past the stairs
And finished up in a pile of chairs.
Of the Easter goodies not a trace,
he’d thrown them into my fireplace!
So a warning before you go opening doors
Make sure your “Bunny” has non-slip paws!

Happy Easter
With lots of love,

Everyone at Post Pals

Dearest Eleanor,

I believe God sends to us very precious and special Angels here on Earth with a beautiful message of love, courage, hope and strength. I know in my heart you dear Eleanor are such a precious soul a special Angel blessed to grace us all here on our Earth truly a beautiful Angel. I will keep you and your dear family in my prayers Eleanor this day and always, I pray that all will be well when you visit with your neurosurgeon this Tuesday 21st September 2004 and all will be well for your planned surgery the following week on Wednesday 29th 2004. I will look for regular updates on your website for progress on how things are going with you pre-op and post-op.

Thank you dear Eleanor for creating a very special place online like this to help other people understand your condition and to help people understand what brain tumors are about. I have enjoyed my visit to your website today, a dear friend of mine who knows what its like to have a brain tumour sent me your link, I believe people who have brain tumours are very special brave people. Thank you also for sharing your fun travels and journeys to EuroDisney and Flamingoland for us all to enjoy. I will often to see how you are progressing.

May God watch over you precious braveheart Eleanor, and May God keep you and all your family and friends safe in his loving arms always.

In Gods loving hands,

Chana Hera Davis

Well done on your website - and all my best wishes for Eleanor - she seems a beautiful little girl.  I have a little lad, Harry - with leukeamia - so I can feel very much for what you are going through.   I have to say there is no way that I could be brave enough to diarise his treatment on the internet!      Thankfully Harry is very well - despite the fact that his neutrophil count is as low as 0.3 just now - he seems very strong.

All the best for a happy future with your lovely little girl....

The Glider Flight  -  The weather was doubtful at first but began to clear so we set off for York.  We arrived on time and were pleased to be told the flight was on.  The glider was new and beautiful (if tiny).  The flight lasted about 45 mins and was indescribable.  I am hoping to have collected all the sponsor money over the next week or two.  A big thank you again to you all and I will let you know the final total as soon as I have it.

Norma.

Less than two weeks to go before "The Flight".(click here for details).  A big THANK YOU to all my sponsors.  If you have missed this chance to support the new Oncology unit you can still join the list by e-mailing me at normafrench@topmum.net and paying your contribution into sort code 11-75-85 account number 00036633 at any Halifax branch.  I am grateful for this chance to do something to thank the staff at Alder Hey for the care and consideration they have given, and continue to give, Eleanor and her family.

On behalf of Sheila and myself I would like to congratulate Mark on this Web site, it has made it much easier to talk about Eleanor in the shop as many people have been able to keep up to date with developments themselves instead of feeling they have to ask every time they call see either of us.  We are obviously also very pleased with the progress Eleanor is showing during this time.  Well done to all at Alder Hey.
