Welcome to the Eleanor French website
This site was created in 2002 for family and friends to keep up to date with Eleanor's battle with a brain tumour. Since then it has become a resource for many other family's who have found themselves in similar circumstances. We have received hundreds of messages of support from all over the world that have given us strength in dark times. We have also been privileged to be able to support other families who have joined us in a world where nothing is ever taken for granted and the preciousness of each day with your child is fully understood.
Please feel free to explore the site or leave Eleanor a message in the Guest Book. The diary dates back to when Eleanor was first diagnosed in 2002 and gives an insight into the journey we have travelled as a family. Eleanor herself took over writing the updates at the beginning of 2008.
We wanted to improve the prospects of others diagnosed with a brain tumour in the future and have set up a fund with the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust. The trust is the largest funder of laboratory based brain tumour research in the UK. So far we have raised over £5000. To find out more about the fund and other charities we support visit our fund raising page.

Hi all, I have some really super cool news. I had an MRI today and it was clear!! They stuck a huge needle in my hand to inject some dye so that the scan would be clearer and after the scan we went to Clinic and they told me that was hopefully my last scan, as long as I stay well. How good is that?!!! I love Dr P and all of my other doctors and nurses and am sooo grateful to them for everything they have done for me over the last nearly 9 years. Over the last few weeks I have also won gold medals for swimming at my swimming club. Holly won loads too and she has been in a gala last Sunday and the club won that as well. We can start going back to our caravan soon, which is great and I am also going to PGL with school for 5 days soon which is an adventure place. I have eye clinic in April and audiology & ENT in July and hormone clinic in August. Busy, busy!
